Ambury Farm Trip

The weather was amazing, the sky blue and all the children were fantastic representatives of Sunnybrae Normal School on our trip to Ambury Farm on Tuesday. We learnt about how to milk cows, shear the dags off sheep, feed and learn about the animals at the farm.

A BEEzy week in Room 5

As part of our inquiry into classifications of animals, we had Robin and Freya come into school on Tuesday to talk about the life of bees and how they make honey.  We were all fascinated about how they find nectar in flowers and then how this is turned into honey. We learnt about the different jobs that worker, drone and queen bees do as well.

We are also learning that there are similarities in animals and that scientists put these into certain groups. In class we are focusing on mammals, insects, reptiles, amphibians, birds and fish.

On Friday we hosted the Junior Syndicate assembly.

Another busy week in Room 5!

We can be action heros

Well done to Room 5 and Room 8 children who took part in our assembly on Friday.  We hope you had fun and learnt about taking action to care of our environment and the ways we can take action at school.

On Monday we were able to take action by walking safely on the roads. Constable Harwood came to help us. We learnt how to look down, across and look up before walking briskly to the other side of the street.

Next we will will take action by going to Ambury Farm.
